This is on Nighlty 35.0a1 (2014-09-16) with e10s enabled. In the following I report three issues I encountered with the "Tab crashed" page and the interaction with crashed tabs in general. Not sure if these reports should go into separate bugs.
1) When a tab crashes, the displayed message says "Tab crashed".
This is right, but I was confused that not only this tab but all the other tabs crashed as well. Maybe the wording should therefore be more like:
> "This tab and all other tabs crashed"
This is better, but overall I find the message "Tab crashed" too technical. Maybe this is easier to understand for the average Firefox user:
> "There was an error when rendering the page"
---
2) The button on the crash page is currently labeled as "Try again". From this it is not clear what the effect of the pressing the button will be. Maybe it would be better to have the button state
> "Reload all the tabs."
The wording "Try again" also reminds me of "yeah, we failed, so let's just try again and the browser might crash again". As Yoda from the StarWars universe teaches us [1]
> Do. Or do not. There is no try.
---
3) Currently, when the content tabs crashes, the user can still click on the other tabs. This feels strange, as the user can click on the other tabs but there is nothing. Once the tabs crashes the only thing the user can do is press the "Try again" button to reload the tabs and I think the UI should force the user more to do so and prevent them from doing any other interaction that lead to other crashed tabs.
A possible way for this might be to show a modal dialog over the content of the crashed tab and gray out the tabs as well. This modal window then contains the current "Tab crashed" dialog.
