I was just testing the wizard builder with Aki and wondering if the confirmation email should be updated. Right now its 100% maker party centric - should this be more general now that the party is over?
Here's the email:
Hi brett,
I'm excited to hear you're throwing an event! To help you make it a success, we've compiled some tips and tricks (links to party.webmaker.org/resources). You can learn how to better organize your event, use teaching resources, get press coverage, work with local partners, gather feedback, and more. You can also order Webmaker gear like lanyards and stickers to hand out to your participants.
Remember to document everything with photos, videos, quotes and whatever else might be helpful. Share the details of your party on Twitter, Facebook and Flickr with the #makerparty hashtag. You can also edit your event page at any time with more info.
If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact me. I'm here to help!
Cheers,
Amira

Good call, Brett.
There's a related request in Studio Mofo's queue to move the resources currently residing at party.webmaker.org/resources over to the Webmaker resources page.
Once that's done, we can change the link in the first paragraph.
Otherwise, I think the only other things that need to be changed are:
* Perhaps remove reference to ordering gear (though perhaps not until we run out? My understanding was that we had a limited supply of Maker Party gear, but I'm not sure if that's different from the Webmaker gear referred to here)
* Change the reference to the #MakerParty hashtag. We should still encourage them to share their events, though, so maybe we need a new promotional hashtag for when Maker Party isn't in season?
Erika, I'm cc'ing you to take this on, so you can flag when the resources page gets moved over.

+1 to your suggestion to remove gear reference and #MakerParty hashtag
Moving the resources page will take some careful consideration and I don't think it will happen in the next or two. I suggest we edit the email ASAP.

Erika, do you want to assign this to yourself and offer a re-write of the current email, even without the new resources page?

Instead of directing people to the /resources page, which is filled with MP references as discussed above, should we instead send people to the generic landing page for the event wizard?

I wonder if only having 3 events to choose from is too limiting, though.

* I'll investigate this one this week

* We need to ensure the event confirmation emails are still up to date, and aligned with Fall Campaign push
* Erika: can you get to this this week?

Yes, but my question above remains: Is the main CTA to visit the Resources page, which is extremely Maker Party heavy, or should we direct people to the generic version of the Fall Campaign landing page?

* Erika: Cassie and Andrew were talking today about better User Experience for the whole "add an event" process
So short term:
1) Let's remove the explicit / dated references to Maker Party
2) Get with Cassie and Andrew on how to make this better as part of the overall user experience work they're doing.

Here's a temporary fix until we get a better picture together with Cassie and Andrea:
