Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.9; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0
Build ID: 20140917194002
Steps to reproduce:
Since Firefox 32 links from external programs only bring Firefox to front but don't open anymore. In one of 10 cases they open. But in 9 cases they only give FF focus. This happens on OSX 10.6 as well as OSX 10.9. See also:
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1018542
Actual results:
Most of the time links don't open anymore.
Expected results:
Clicking a http link in Thunderbird or any other program or PDF document etc. should not only bring FF to the foreground but open that link.
like bug 1067164, but it only for fx35 e10s.
Since version 32, Firefox fails to open hyperlinks from other applications (for instance, an email client). The focus will switch to Firefox and a blank tab may even open, but then nothing happens. Still occurs after reinstall and specifying Firefox as default browser. Occurs even running in Safe Mode, or after a Firefox Reset.
Today I found that Firefox does the same with local HTML files. Double click on a HTML file on my hard disk only opens FF and brings it to focus, but nothing else happens. But not always. After double clicking the file many times it will finally open. Maybe in one of five tries. This makes Firefox 32 very much useless for web development too. Need to go back to FF 31.
