Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0 Build ID: 20140912222815 Steps to reproduce: After a power loss of my computer my firefox profile is corrupted. All open tabs were lost. I tried to restore as usual with an sessionstore.js backup. Actual results: Tab groups and amount of tabs were correctly restored, but all tabs turned into "empty tabs". Restoring the sessionstore.js in a new profile works fine. Expected results: No corruption in the first place or at least restoring the sessionstore.js should've worked. The corrupted profile folder can be provided on request.

Hey Tim, with your vast Session Restore knowledge, would you mind trying to see if you can reproduce the issue with Leonard's corrupted profile? :)

Leonard, sorry that that happened. In Firefox 33 we will ship a more solid version of sessionstore that should be more resistant to corruptions when writing to disk. I'll dupe this to bug 883609 and suggest you either switch to Firefox Beta or wait until 33 is released :) If that happens again with Firefox 33+, please file a new bug! There certainly might be edge cases that we don't know of yet.
