User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:31.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/31.0 Iceweasel/31.0
Build ID: 20140803010241
Steps to reproduce:
I have an ownCloud installation providing two calendars over the same CalDAV url. One of them is appointments, the other is a birthday calendar.
I tried synchronising my calendars with Gaia::Calendar app.
Actual results:
Event calendar is synchronised properly, Birthday Calendar is detected (its name is displayed) but no events are synchronised.
Expected results:
I would expect birthday calendar to sync like any other calendar. I don't think it's an issue with ownCloud as the birthday calendar is synchronising properly in other apps (namely aCalendar on Android).
I enclose an exemple .ics file delivered by the caldav server.

Hello,
To help you on that problem I have created a guest account on a test server.
CalDAV link (to input in the calendar app): http://hetier.net/remote.php/caldav/
Login: Guest
Password: Gue$tMozilla
I have set up 12 contacts so that there is a birthday on the 1st of every month (starting 1980).
The calendar can be accessed using the following address: http://hetier.net/remote.php/caldav/calendars/guest/contact_birthdays
Hi,
as workaround to be able to view this read only calendar on my phone, i modify an owncloud file on my server in order to have it in read/write mode.
File to modify : owncloud/apps/calendar/lib/sabre/object.php / line 49
from : $readprincipal = 'principals/' . OCP\User::getUser();
to : $writeprincipal = 'principals/' . OCP\User::getUser();
of course it doesn't solve anything ragarding the calendar app in Firefox OS.

Hello,
Could that mean that the app simply doesn't work with readonly calendars? Might not be that hard to solve then.
Thanks for your feedback.
Hello,
it's just a thought but yes i think. Unfortunally i doesn't have the time and certainly the skills to investigate more on this idea. So i'm living with this workaround until someone propose a patch to solve the problem on firefox os side.

Well, I tried and it seems that trick does not work for me :'( Do you actually see the birthdays in the calendar app?
I check a new time and in fact for me the problem is solved. (I'm on Fxos 2.2 nightly)

Hello ewilly. I have updated to FirefoxOS 2.2 and then 3.0 and I an still experiencing the issue… Can you confirm that your Birthday events are displayed properly?
Hi JB, unfortunately it doesn't work anymore for me too and didn't find any workaround.

Works for me in FirefoxOS 2.2 and using the ownCloud 8.1.3 with the latest versions of the contact and calendar apps.

- Calendar: 0.7.3
- Contacts: 0.4.0.1
Thanks!
