Hello
Click on that nice icon at the bottom right and a window pops up
when browsing eg file:///usr/local
Title:
URL: undefined
Last Modified: Unknown
Now wouldnt it more more useful if the Title could be set to file:///usr/local ??
Also the top application window bar just says Mozilla, no document title.
"Last Modified: 20 Oct 2001" would be nicer as well, if that was the date on the
directory I am browsing now.
On the security tab the "view" button does nothing, if this displayed a message
like "currently browsing local drives, no security infomation" that would be
more useful.
Anyway, the rest of the product is great, keep it going guys!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.type url
2.look at screen
3.
Actual Results: Nothing, useful
Expected Results: nice info ;)
also of small note, your bugzilla insisted on putting http://file:///usr/local
the http:// is compulsary?

->XP Apps:GUI
Both the General and Security tabs of the Page Info dialog are displaying
incorrect information when the page in question is a local directory listing,
such as file:///C:/ on Windows. This may have to be broken out into separate
bugs for the Security Info tab (to PSM) and the General tab.

Hmm. where is this info obtained from? IF someone tells me, I guess I could add
support for it.

yes, this is already fixed by bug 52730 (technically it could be considered a
dup of 53641.) However, the Security tab is part of the PSM component, I'll
modify this bug to just address that particular issue, if that's ok with the
reporter?.

Isn't this issue covered by the fix to the about: page?
If so can you dup it.

Not completely - the security tab isn't broken anymore, but it would be nice if
we could show specific messages when it is a local file url, etc., rather than
the generic 'Web Site identity not verified' message, which is rather confusing ...

Summary:
This bug complains about wrong information in the general tab. This is not a PSM
problem.
In addition, it complains about the security tab. It says, there is a view
button and it does not work.
Meanwhile, there is no longer a view button. The security tab only says, web
site identity not verified. That's correct. It only gives general information
about the non-secure state of the page.
I agree that it would be nice, if the security tab would display better
information. However, if we decide to do that, we would have to add a clever
detection of the currently viewed content type. We would have to detect the
various protocols (ftp, gopher, chrome, about, file), and display approriate
information for any protocol.
IMHO, the current state is acceptable. We say it is not secure. That's fine,
because it is true.
I suggest to resolve this bug as wontfix.
