User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.8; rv:32.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/32.0
Build ID: 20140917194002

Steps to reproduce:

create a box using :before on <botton type="button">

see http://jsbin.com/noyaji/3

Actual results:

the :before generated box is visible but does not capture mouse events. text below the layer could be selected, other elements clicked.

Expected results:

clicking on the :before generated box should have triggered a click on the <button>, text below the generated box should not be selectable
I have also tested this in Firefox 35.0a1 (2014-10-02) with the same result. I have however gotten reports that the problem might not exist on Windows. Not sure what to make of this, I only tested on Mac OS 10.8.5.
Component: Untriaged → Event Handling
Product: Firefox → Core
I can confirm this on OS X 10.9.5 with Firefox Nightly from today (v35.0a 2014-10-02).
This is basically a dup of bug 843003
Depends on: 843003
