From Bugzilla Helper: BuildID: 2001102903 Typing a URL into the URL-bar, and hitting enter causes the selected URL to load into a new tab, instead of the current tab. CTL+Enter should cause this behavior, I believe, not plain Enter. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Laucnh Mozilla 2. Click in the URL-bar 3. Type over the existing URL with a new one 4. hit enter Actual Results: A new tab was opened, and loaded the URL which was typed in. Expected Results: It should have loaded the URL in the current tab, and should not have opened a new tab at all. I believe this is the correct behavior for the CTL+Enter key binding, but is obviously not correct for plain Enter.
WFM Linux 2001103021
I can confirm this with build 2001103003 on Windows 95 When I have the "Open Tab on CTRL+Enter in the URL Bar" pref enabled, ENTER opens the url in a new tab CTRL+ENTER does absolutely nothing
Just to confirm what MozillaUser@HamsterRepublic.com reported, I am actually getting the behavior he described. ENTER, loads a new tab CTRL+ENTER, does nothing.
dup of 105537 control+enter in url bar firing for just enter *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 105537 ***
