User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:24.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/24.0
Build ID: 20140916235534

Steps to reproduce:

Parts of my sessions store were lost to bitrot because of my hard drive failure. After moving all the data to a new hard drive the sessionstore got corrupted. Sync was used to store the data.

Actual results:

The whole session got lost (and to make things worse it got lost on sync too).

Expected results:

After realizing the sessionstore is corrupted firefox tried to recover the data from sync.
Component: Untriaged → Session Restore
This is not a current capability of Sync or session store. However, it's a reasonable request: we do something similar to this on iOS to recover bookmarks and history. We'd lose windows and a bunch of other data, but it's better than nothing.

Given that nobody has triaged this in three years, I'm going to set it to P3, and we'll see where it goes from there.
Severity: normal → enhancement
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
Priority: -- → P3
Summary: Firefox didn't recover the tabs from sync after the sessionstorage got corrupted → Attempt to recover open tabs from Firefox Sync when sessionstorage is corrupted
Severity: normal → S3
