Right now we don't show much of anything if the user stumbles into about:addons. We should take this opportunity to teach users about add-ons and/or feature some add-ons.

Hi, Margaret.
I think it has not much difficulty to work on this bug, we could add some messages if no addons installed. Do you have any idea how information is going to present?
Thanks.

I haven't spent time thinking about what to show if no add-ons are installed. We may want to put this bug on the back-burner until we have time to re-assess and invest in our mobile add-ons experience.
However, I'd be happy to review a patch that gives us any sort of quick win. Maybe Anthony has ideas? Otherwise, feel free to suggest ideas yourself.

Is OpenH264 still something that all users will have by default?
I know Pwalm has been doing some thinking about this for Desktop. Could be a good spot to unify.

It seems that OpenH264 is installed by default, and could not be removed in any way. If so, does this improvement still need to go?
However, in case no addon is installed, I prefer to make an page like about:login does when there's no entry. Anthony, do you think it a good idea?

Yes, OpenH264 is currently always there for our users. But that's just something the new design will take into account. We should still improve this "default" view.

Sounds fair. Can you show me a screenshot?

The screenshot is currently modified from about:logins.
I was thinking the structure could be used also in add-on page if no entries present. What do you think about this?

Thanks for the screenshot!
I'm not sure learning about add ons is the best call-to-action here. For example, what about a link to AMO? or some actual add-ons to enable right from this page?
I think the add-ons team has been thinking about this. Let me reach out to them to see if they have some designs that we could take a look at.
Ni-ing Pwalm to chat about this tomorrow
