Run this from the console: window.openDialog("data:text/html,blah blah blah<script>window.maximize()</script>") Result: window is not maximized, no error displayed If you wait a bit, then it works: window.openDialog("data:text/html,blah blah blah<script>setTimeout(window.maximize, 100)</script>") Result: window is maximized
