Details

(Keywords: regression)

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10) AppleWebKit/600.1.25 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8.0 Safari/600.1.25

Steps to reproduce:

On a Yosemite GMc2 system ...
1. Download FirefoxNightly 35.0a1 (bundle version 3514.10.9)
2. Double click to launch.

Actual results:

FirefoxNightly does not launch.
Console contains this single line:

com.apple.xpc.launchd[1]: (com.apple.xpc.launchd.oneshot.0x1000005b.firefox[11625]) Service exited with abnormal code: 255

Expected results:

FirefoxNightly should have launched.
regression notes:
Previous Nightly builds (2014.10.08 and before) have been launching fine for me on Yosemite GMc1. I installed Yosemite GMc2 yesterday. With both the OS build and Nightly build changing, at this point I'm not sure which variable is the cause of Nightly not launching. I suspect Nightly because public Firefox for Mac, v32.0.3, launches OK on Yosemite GMc2.
Summary: won't launch on Yosemite GMc2 → Nightly won't launch on Yosemite GMc2
To be specific, OS X Yosemite GMc2 is 10.10/14a386a
I am also hitting this bug with the same os and ff version fwiw.
Can one of you with the right GM build get an inbound regression window with mozregression?

The m-c regression window is:

CC'ing some of the mac repack / yosemite folks in case they have ideas.
Liekly the same as bug 1079655 as well as another one that landed recently

Reporter, please try with today's build when it becomes available and let us know in the bug if it works. Thanks

Yes, confirmed that today's nightly build (2014-10-10) launched OK on the same system reported against above. Because I have also upgraded to Yosemite GMc3 (10.10/14a388a) build, I wanted to be able to eliminate the OS as a possible variable.

I did not overwrite the previous nightly build (2014-10-08) and it still will not launch on this Yosemite GMc3 system whereas today's nightly (2014-10-10) launches OK. Thanks!
