Using 1999-07-28-14 on Mac OS 8.51 Copying messages from news to local mail folder puts a bogus and incomplete message header in the destination folder, then requires an exit/restart to see the copied message. 1. Launch Messenger to multiple account profile which has at least one POP and one news account configured . 2. Open the POP account, display a folder. 3. Open the news account, display a newsgroup. Select a message in the newsgroup (an article which is really there, not an expired/cancelled message). Message|Copy Message to the folder you accessed on POP account. 4. Display the POP folder. Result: there is a message entry in the thread pane which has no subject, sender -- just displays a bogus date (mine said Dec 31) and it displays no content if selected. 5. Exit and return to the POP folder and the copied message will appear properly (with all header fields) in the thread pane and contents will display if selected. The bogus entry is now gone. Expected Results: Upon copy message news->local mail I should be able to see the copy of the message in the destination folder without having to exit and restart.
Added info: by the way using copy message mail-> mail I don't have to exit in order to see the copy in the destination folder.
I believe this is a Mac only problem. Laurel won't be back for six weeks.

Esther, can you try this again? This doesn't sound like a mail/news bug - perhaps something has been fixed in rdf or raptor...thanks!
Tested this scenario with Win98 and linux using the 8-16 and 8-20 M9 builds this is not a problem on these platforms so this is [PP]. Mac M9 build 8-20 still has this problem and an additional problem of not displaying the header in the Header area, but in the body of the message. This is true even after you close and reopen apprunner. Can't check M10 on Mac at this time, my news folder won't expand.
Sounds like this needs to be fixed for PR1, so I added a note to the Status Whiteboard.

I retested all platforms using 19991026 builds and they are all OK now. Verified.
