Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_9_5) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/38.0.2125.104 Safari/537.36 Steps to reproduce: Go to mozilla.org to download Firefox, from a linux machine. Click the large green download button. Actual results: I was given a large .tar.bz2 file which I would have to know how to extract, and need to know what to run inside that archive to actually run Firefox. There are no instructions or indications about actually installing it or what to do with it. Expected results: The user should have been given the choice of a .deb or .rpm to download, and the names of popular distros for which these packages or appropriate. The tarball would still be available only as a last resort. The users desktop environment would have opened this in a package management tool, which would have prompted the user to install the package easily.
