Details

When I open new tabs using Mozilla (up to build 2001110503) they're way too long horizontally - they take so much screen space, that only three fit and the close X button is hidden off the side of the screen.
The tabs auto-size now. If you open more than three they should get smaller. The [x] button was removed a while back. It no longer exists. Middle click on a tab will close it.
Yes, auto-size seems to be working well, but can the first few tabs default to a smaller size? Three across is too few, IMHO. Five or six would seem much nicer to me, perhaps for the reporter as well.
Try adding a 4th, a 5th, a 6th, a 7th, an 8th, a 9th ... They'll just get smaller and still fit :-) So, this allows the tabs to have bigger titles in the common case (up to 4 or 5 tabs), while still being able to have more tabs in there (at the "cost" of having less of each tab title visible). Marking this bug invalid since more than 3 tabs will fit and the X was removed on purpose (there's another bug on adding some UI to replace it, for now use the context menu, press ctrl-F4 for the active tab, or middle-click on the tab you want to close).

Please re-read my comments. This is not invalid. I am requesting that the tabs begin auto-sizing not after 3 are present, but after a larger number are present, say 5 or 6. This means that the default tab size must shrink, which is how I interpret the reporter's comments. At present, they are simply *too big* by default. If two tabs are open, and more than 50% of the horizontal real estate is consumed, the interface looks bad, IMHO. If the UI people disagree, please mark this invalid again.

Ah, that's not how I read the original report ("they take so much screen space, that only three fit and the close X button is hidden off the side of the screen"). As to your complaint that they're too wide from an aesthetical point of view, I guess that's a matter of opinion. I personally like them this wide :-)
Yep, you're Boris. I'll mark this as invalid.
