This is fixed by bug 1014614. In fact, I used a SGP511 for a while developing that patch.

I'm not seeing any crashes reported for 36.0a1, 35.0a2, or 34.0b6 in the last week. There's still a high volume for 33 but I assume we're wontfixing that at this point.
