The wording we use in the Preferences dialog to refer to the master password is consistently "Master Password". It's on the "Change Master Password" button and all over the sheet that it triggers. It's on pages like https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-master-password-protect-stored-logins. There's nary a mention of a Software Security Device. That's why I was so confused the first time Firefox asked me to "Please enter the master password for the Software Security Device.", complete with capitals leading my gaze away from the embedded word "master". It took me a good 30 seconds to infer what a Software Security Device might be and what I should do. I suggest changing the wording to something simpler and more consistent, like "Please enter your Firefox master password."
