lightning 2.6.6 will not open my gmail calendar, only my 'home' calendar

Steps to reproduce:
clicked on d.lang44 gmail calendar but it will not respond. only home calendar works but it will not sync with my phone
Actual results:
nothing when I clicked on my d.lang gmail calendar
Expected results:
check mark should have appeared and all my calendar stuff that i did last few days on my phone or on google website calendar should have appeared
also, removed both lightning 2.6.6 and 'provider for Google calendar 1.0.2' and re-installed. no change.
