Description

I added a new bookmark in the 34 Beta, and it did not appear on the top of the list, but on the bottom.

Bookmarks I added before and after are on top.

This happend already about 3 or 4 times in a very long time, on different versions, so it is an absoulte rare thing.

I can’t give any way to recreate this, sorry.

But on a synced tablet the specific bookmarks is now also on the bottom.

Huh?
Isn’t this the normal behavior now? All my new Bookmarks go to the bottom...

Could be a duplicate of https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=975598
No. That is a desktop bug. There is no way to drag and drop bookmarks or folders on Firefox for Android.

On nightly bookmarks I am adding are added sequentially from oldest on to to newest on bottom. Though my daily driver Aurora profile has newest bookmarks at top...odd.

Verified this issue on Nightly(50.0a1/2016-07-06), Aurora (49.0a2/2016-07-07) and Beta 48.0b4 and could not reproduce the stated problem, all newly added bookmarks are at the top of the list and also, old bookmarks keep their old order.
This issue was tested on a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 with Android 6 and on a Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 with Android 5.0.2.

Jan, could you please try to verify this issue on your device using the latest Nightly, Aurora or Beta builds?
Thanks

I am realy surprised.
I am running Firefox on 3 different devices, and all show (more or less) the same behavior:

On an MotoG, An Asus Memopad with Nightly, and An Fire 5th with Releaseversion, it is the following system: (I use Sync here)

E
E
E
E
E
N
S
S
S
S
S

Where S are the Synced ones, E are already added ones, and N is a newly added one.
So a newly added bookmarks ALWAYS goes between the already added ones, and the synced ones.

On the Fire 5th with Nightly, and without Sync, it is:

E
E
E
N
S
S
S

Where S are the three standard bookmarks komming with a fresh installation.
So here also a new bookmarks ALWAYS lands in the middle of the list, between the already added ones, and the three original bookmarks.

Oh, I had to add:
I don’t use Sync always on the three devices. Just from time to time to sort them on my PC, and then resyncing them.
I don’t have sync running all the time, becasue it messes up the positions completly over time.

I was able to reproduce this on RC 52.0 and Aurora 53.0a2 with Samsung Galaxy Note 4 - Android 5.0.1. Testing Nightly 54.0a1 is in progress.
Not only the new bookmarks are added at the bottom, but also the articles added to reading list.
Additional info: I have more than 3 devices synced and 750 bookmarks.
