108969 - file picker doesn't remember last-selected directory in the same session

Description

saw this using 2001.11.06.12-comm bits on winNT. will check other platforms in a
bit.

1. open a compose window [fwiw, i was using plaintext, not html].
2. click the attachment button to bring up the [native] file picker.
3. navigate to the directory of choice in the file picker, eg, d:\screenshots\
4. i noticed that i could shift+ or control+click to select multiple files, so i
just selected one...
5. ...and repeated step 2 to select another file...

results: i noticed that the directory was *not* the same as the one i [last]
chose in step 3 --it didn't remember what i last chose. the dir it displays
appears to be the one where i had last *saved* [downloaded] file to. interesting.

not a problem on linux or mac os 10.1.

Agree it would be nice if directory was remembered. 4.x does this.

Are you sure it's a dupe ?, bug 72623 seems to be about remembering attachment
folder between sessions while this bug is about within the same session...

I see this in the browser too, not just mailnews. Annoying as all get-out.

I'll fix all these mail-not-remembering bugs at once as they are annoying.
