It looks like the UI is using absolute font sizes in some parts instead of taking into account the display density, and so things are either too small or disproportionately huge for the actual space they are assigned.
Thankfully you can resize windows but the text is most of the times unreadable--as it's too small!
I took a couple of pictures. This was on an X1 Carbon running Ubuntu 14.

Jan, do you use Linux regularly? Are you interested in fixing this?

I do use Linux most of the time, but I'm not interested for now. HiDPI support in Linux is generally bad, and in my experience nothing ever looks right. For my laptop I just gave up, everything stays small and consistent with default DPI and I have to zoom in on the web.

WebIDE is slated for removal (bug 1314811), so there are no plans to add to the current set of features.
