BuddyUp is the simplest way to get support on your FxOS device because it leverages the Firefox community and the latest technologies.

Essentially BuddyUp allows you to submit a question to a community of helpers who can help you by text or even by screen sharing. You can also become a Helper part of the community to start helping people.

Pain points addressed by BuddyUp:
I want to show my issue rather than tell – more simple and efficient
I don’t want to have to wait on hold for an operator.
I don’t want to have to identify myself to receive help.
I want to feel part of a community, and be able to contribute to it.

The goal of the naming project is to find a suitable product name for BuddyUp.

We could go with BuddyUp but it has to be a conscious decision - feedback from the team does not give a clear consensus.
Also we need to validate that the name is suitable as part of the Firefox OS apps ecosystem (this application is likely to be preloaded on devices) as well as check suitability with trademarks.

From my experience, it's impossible to get 100% consensus on something like this. Let's establish clearly and up front what the decision-making process will be and who will have the final say on the name. Otherwise we run the risk of going around in circles.

I also want to make sure we're coming up with new options for the right reasons. I quite like BuddyUp. It's friendly and ownable. It fits with the overall tone of Firefox and Firefox OS.

If that's not off the table, I would recommend starting a legal review of that regardless of what we do here.

Let's also figure out how we determine if BuddyUp is still in the running or not.

Another thing to consider is whether or not this will be localized. That will also play a big part in determining what kind of name we end up choosing.
