This is possibly two bugs in one (maybe a second needs making for non e10s case. "slow" bad word to find duplicates.)

Prepare by having both "Don't load tabs until selected" and "When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately" unchecked.
Open http://torstatus.blutmagie.de/tor_exit_query.php (small page.)
(next to follow, main page is over 7M of html.)

0. Non-e10s
Middle click "Tor Network Status". Firefox still reasonably responsive while it loads in background tab. (Able to switch to multiple other tabs while it loads.) Taking under 30s.

1. Non-e10s
Open it in the foreground. Firefox unresponsive for several minutes.
[firefox 100% single core usage]

2. e10s (open either of above ways)
Firefox responsive. Just shows throbber while loading if viewing page. Page takes several minutes to load.

This isn't really an e10s bug if the problem is that non-e10s Firefox is unresponsive when loading 7MB web page.

Summary: [e10s] Firefox slow loading page → Firefox is unresponsive when loading 7MB web page
The e10s case is the time it takes when loading in a background tab.
Recently spotted bug #1037179 possibly related. I wonder if e10s code is not setting some background state flag.
