Simon, could you please looking into this? The problem didn't exist prior to Australis. Thanks.
I can reproduce the ellipsis switching sides, so I'm confirming this... Is the expectation that the ellipsis is on the left or on the right? On the left would be consistent with other RTL pages, but this is an LTR page title, so maybe the right makes more sense? I don't know what RTL readers would expect in this case. I'm also not sure how Australis itself would have regressed this...

FWIW I can only reproduce this on Windows, and only with an actual RTL language (tested with Hebrew and Arabic), not with the ForceRTL extension. Also there seems to be no parallel bug with RTL tab titles in LTR builds.

Your argument makes sense, and on the face of it the ellipsis should be on the right in LTR pages. However, in Windows Task Bar - the ellipsis is *always* on the left. IMO, consistency (with Windows) would be better. As for Australis regressing it: In FF 24, the ellipsis is always on the left. I assumed the regression occurred in 29.

Hi Gaurav, I happened to see your work in Bug 1075438. Congratulations! Would you have time to look into the issue reported here?

Closing as ellipses are replaced by fading out text in newer versions of Firefox.
