I'm not sure how I got into this situation, but I ended up with a tab that I cannot activate or close.
Running today's 64-bit Linux nightly on Debian testing.
The tab in question is an empty tab (i.e. I just opened a new tab and didn't load a page in it). I cannot activate it (Ctrl+Tab just goes past it, clicking on it has no effect) nor closing it (clicking on the 'x' button has no effect).
Mike Conley debugged it in the Browser Console, and saw that when I try to close the tab, the '_beginRemoveTab' function returns early because 'aTab.closing' is already true [1].

This is very likely a dupe of bug 1094328 (so you probably tried to drag a tab...) but the info here may be useful.
