I think that the STR is not clear enough in this bug, the contact is not auto filled or prepopulated because for sharing the URL we are selecting "Other" option.
If you select directly the "SMS" and the "E-mail" options (instead of doing it through the "other" option) "Subject" and "To" are prepopulated.
When we select "Others" option in the Shared URL screen we are using a "share" activity, and we are delegating in the system the handling of it. For this kind of activity, the system will offer us to choose among all the applications available that are able to share an URL (even third party apps) what is really a win but the info can not be pre-populated, only the URL(body).
Joshua, this should work in this way independently of the FxOS version. Can you confirm again if this the current behavior for 2.0. 2.1 and 2.2 versions. If this is the case, we can resolve this bug as duplicated of bug 1086164.

RJ - can you confirm that this issue only occurs when using the 'others' option

This issue does only occur after tapping the other option, and does not when just tapping messenger.
