User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:33.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/33.0
Build ID: 20141106120505

Steps to reproduce:

I just installed the Firefox Developer Edition on Windows 8.1. (firefox-35.0a2.de.win32.installer.exe)

Actual results:

It seems like the default theme is not loading. Firefox looks broken, there is no theme. Reinstalling Firefox does not help, the default theme is installed.

Expected results:

There should be a nice black theme.

Did you try to run it with admin permissions? Can you run firefox from command prompt and see what is printing out there? I can't reproduce it.

Starting Firefox from command prompt (Window --> Run --> CMD --> cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Firefox Developer Edition --> firefox.exe) just starts Firefox (without theme) but does not print out anything.

Running Firefox Developer Edition with admin permissions shows the black theme. Nice! Thanks a lot.

Unfortunately, I now have to enter a password every time I start Firefox. (I am not having this issue with any other program.)

Have you installed Firebug 3 alpha? If so, this should be fixed once 1096469 lands. A workaround would be to switch the devtools theme away from Firebug and to 'light'.
Flags: needinfo?(nebo)
Switching the theme did work. I do not need the password and the new Firefox Developer Edition theme works. Thanks for taking care of this issue. :)

No problem :) - keep an eye out for Bug 1096469 to land and get uplifted in order to use both themes at the same time.

Another option if you prefer to use the Firebug theme with Australis is to just set the browser.devedition.theme.enabled pref to false (or toggle it off in Customize mode).
