User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0 Build ID: 20141112030202 Steps to reproduce: Wait for some time (last time it was about 1-2 days since starting firefox). Open a link using `firefox 'http://mozilla.org'`. Actual results: After a few minutes I get the message that firefox is already running. Expected results: The link should open in firefox.
I tried to reproduce this with the stable version of firefox but I've been running it for 1,5 weeks and I couldn't, so it looks like this is only a problem of the nightly version.
This problem is caused by trying to open an url using `firefox -remote 'http://mozilla.org'`. Emacs does this by default which caused my problem, but it happens if you run this via a terminal as well. This seems to be unintented behaviour so I'm leaving this bug open for someone else to decide on.
If you disable e10s from the preferences, does that fix the problem?

Not sure if it matters but I deleted my profile yesterday for other reasons so I'm using a pretty clean profile atm.
