ACTUAL RESULTS: The first 1 or 2 frames display correctly, and then the GIF freezes on a corrupted image. (Bottom half is black, no animation). If you view the image directly, it animates in the *favicon*, but not in the actual page body.
This reproduces regardless of whether e10s is enabled.
Nightly 36.0a1 (2014-11-19), 64-bit Ubuntu 14.10

which makes me suspect bug 1079653, which led me to dependent bug 1101759, which it looks like this is a dupe of.
