Right now, when async lookups for the autocomplete widget are happening, no UI feedback is given that the lookups are still in progress. mpt and kai have suggested, in the case of the LDAP autocomplete in the mailnews window that having the address card icon in the text box turn into rotating asynchronous arrows while the search is in progress would be a good thing. This seems like a good idea to me too, and even a generally useful way to (be able to) indicate progress in autocomplete widgets.
