The order in which new tabs as a result to clicking on links are opened in is wrong in e10s

Details
STR:
1. Add a couple of pinned tabs, and open a bunch of new tabs.
2. In the first pinned tab, click on a link that opens up in a new tab.
Before e10s, the new tab would open up to the right of all of the open tabs including the non-pinned ones. After e10s, it opens up after all of the pinned tabs but before all of the non-pinned tabs.

Not true...

Ehsan - can you reproduce with a fresh profile? It's possible you have a pref set that we're not respecting.

I think you need to have the browser.allTabs.previews pref set to true in order to reproduce.

That pref has been removed long ago. Did you mean browser.ctrlTab.previews? However that pref shouldn't cause the described behavior either. Maybe an add-on did that for you.

Ah, yes!

Hmm, I don't think I have any add-ons that could cause this really, but it's hard to tell. Just setting browser.ctrlTab.previews in a new profile didn't help reproduce the issue, the new tab always opens to the left of all non-pinned tabs.

So... sounds like this is invalid? Ehsan, if you restart the profile where this used to work in non-e10s mode in safe mode, do tabs still open on the far right? Can you narrow down what preference caused this?

I can definitely try, but I also agree that this is not a very important issue, so I don't want to waste time narrowing it down right now, if that's OK. Let's just keep the bug open for now, but I can certainly live with this behavior.

This doesn't really make sense. If this only happens because of an add-on, it's clearly not a bug and should be closed. Without further information, this isn't actionable, as the default behaviour is exactly what you're seeing. I'm going to close this - please reopen if you have more information about what Firefox should be doing differently and isn't.
