If you go to the URL, you'll notice that there is missing whitespace before the
string "MISSING WHITESPACE" in the middle of the page: there should be
whitespace between the ")." and "MISSING".

(This page is derived from another one where I noticed the problem...I've tried
to pare it down to a slightly more minimal example. It's at the point where if
I delete much more, the problem goes away.)

I'm using Mozilla 0.9.5 on a Macintosh running Debian GNU/Linux (woody).
I've gotta say WORKSFORME on 2001112008 on Mac OS 9. I'll grab another build
when I get home to my Linuxbox (x86 though). So if this is real, probably
platform-specific. Or you should try a daily build (contrary to pop. belief,
they are quite stable and usable, plus lots of bugfixes)

Kind of dumb, but I have to reiterate on r.k.aa: WFM Linux x86 w/ 2001112008.

Can people reproduce this in 0.9.5? Steven, is there a newer build available
you could test?
I can reproduce the bug under Mozilla 0.96 (build 2001112109) (on the same
system: Macintosh running Debian Linux). I find, however, that the appearance
of the missing whitespace depends critically upon the browser window resizing.

When I opened the URL just now, I didn't see the missing whitespace. However, I
then resized the window width in small increments (changing the line wrapping
word by word, essentially), and at some point (when "resolution" was the first
word on one of the lines, I believe), the missing whitespace suddenly occurred.
The strange thing is that, once I got to this point, the whitespace stays
missing even if I subsequently resize the window to sizes where it had been okay
before.

I've attached a screenshot of a window with the missing whitespace.
I can reproduce the collapsing of the whitespace on mac OS8.x and on win98. The
window must be sized so the following words in the 2nd para are the left most
words:

We ...
the mpb-data ...
to rearrange ...
expand the ...
resolution).Missing ...
In this case ...
and fix the ...

at this point, you will see the space disappear. I suspect that the reason is
because the whitespace is between a closing code element and the start of
another code element, even though they are inline within a para.

I'm also going to copy the test case on the site to the bug, just in case the
document goes away.

Steven, I assume this is a problem in current builds?
