In a discussion on dev.platform "Sane/possible to implement/standardize opt-in (user and page) mobile "show password" behavior for HTML input type=password?", archive at https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/mozilla.dev.platform/iNsK4egwRbI a conclusion of sorts has been reached that it would be a good idea to have all password fields have a way to allow the user to show the password they are typing (so they can verify it). This is a fairly new discussion, so it might not be appropriate to start work on this quite yet, but there seemed to be quick consensus and I historically have been bad at filing bugs when the conversation tails off, so here we are. I'm also going to file a Firefox OS bug about dealing with the "x" icon that clears the contents of the input field since that might interact oddly with this. Note that I'm also not 100% clear on whether this is the right component or not. Please move as appropriate.

The first step here is to get the UX team involved to give us the icons and interactions.
