Bug 1097661 adds UI to ship-it to mark & show a release as shipped, which bug 1049689 uses to figure out which partials to prefill when starting a new release. In the short term we'll have a manual step to the release automation to mark a release as shipped, doc at https://wiki.mozilla.org/Release:Release_Automation_on_Mercurial:Updates_through_Shipping#Mark_release_as_shipped We should automate this to run after the postrelease builder, somehow. Right now only release-runner has the credentials to post to ship-it, and bug 886522 & deps are relevant. This could fit into stage-tasks.py too.
Zeller's (currently unfinished) work is going to do this. https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=886522 is the root of that bug chain.
