I don't think there is a -browser option. We just open a nav window by default so if you say -browser it looks like it works. The same way as if you said "mozilla -cutelittlenavwindow". No?

sorry, that arguement doesn't fly mozilla w/o args runs whatever the default apps are, which might be mail if you're silly enough to do edit>preferences>appearance: [ ]Navigator [x] Mozilla Mail. I'm not sure i want this option but we'd need a better reason not to have it.

OK. It turns out we do have a "-browser" option. That fact is obscured by the maze of macros used to implement it. And that same maze of macros (and incumbent limitations on those macros supporting help text for more than one) prevents me from implementing it without more effort than it is worth, at this point in time.

now that i'll buy. fwiw shaver is the last poor sap to volunteer to rewrite the commandline handler maze of twisty defines all confusing.
People (including my wife) do use [X] Mail [ ] Browser, and it works. I'm not going to get to the command-line rewrite too soon, though someone whose name eludes me has perhaps volunteered, in exchange for letting a minor MAPI hack through in the meantime.
soon= 1.5years :-)

The current suiterunner (codename for SeaMonkey running on top of toolkit) test builds have this option - when they are switched on, this will be fixed - therefore adding dep.
Depends on: suiterunner
This is fixed in the new SeaMonkey trunk builds specifically by the patch on bug 335550, and also by the switchover to the "new" SeaMonkey on bug 328887.
