From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.6) Gecko/20011120 BuildID: 2001112012 Mozilla crashes if I set the user name to name@rogers.com, on the mail sever pop.broadband.rogers.com. rogers.com is moving away from @home. My old address used to work fine with just "name" instead of "name@home.com", but rogers.com requires the full "name@rogers.com". Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.create new mail profile 2.input all the data up to the user name (name, email address, pop server, etc) 3.try and input "name@rogers.com" (instead of the usual "name") 4.click ok 5.get warning about changed settings 6.click ok on the warning box (ok is the only option) Actual Results: Mozilla crashed. It became unresponsive, even after waiting 10 mins for it to do something. Could not close the windows, only kill -9 worked. Expected Results: should have accepted the settings or return an error at least. Well, I can see why mozilla gets confuzed, because it gets two @'s in the address. I'm guessing name@rogers.com@pop.broadband.rogers.com Unfortunately, they are my ISP, and this is what they require, and I'm stumped. I can't get to my mail on their server.
The behaviour is the same on Windows 2000. Mozilla hangs.
reporter, Try a latest build. I have a gmx account which requires user name to be foo@gmx.co.uk instead of just foo. But I did not crash after setting up this account. However, I was not able to send a message untill I went into accounts and settings|outgoing smtp server and by adding foo@gmx.co.uk in the username field and I was able to get this account working for sending messages.
Reporters comments via email: Yup. That did it for me too. I'm using build id 2001112913, and it works like a charm. No crashes, no errors, no major problems. And most of all, the email works just the way I need it to. Thanks for fixing my major email problem, Cosmin Based on above comments marking this bug as worksforme.
