Sharing totals increase and are visible, but only within locales. Any user in a different locale will see only the count for that locale - instead of a universal one. Perhaps this is intentional.

The Twitter & FB buttons accrue the total number of Like/Tweets of any given URL on which they are placed. Mozilla.org serves locales for each page on a separate URL, so each locale will naturally have it's own share count. I would say this is working as intended and not really a bug.
It also gives us additional metrics as to which locales share more frequently :)
