Details |
In order to increase the number of people using tracking protection, we should design an onboarding mechanism for users who have already opted into DNT. It remains to be decided whether the transition for these users should be opt-out (since they've already made the decision that they don't want to be tracked and TP is just enforcing that) or opt-in.

As long as we are talking about experiments and pre-release channels, a simple notification bar should do just fine (see mockup). When we are going to release, it makes sense to reconsider based on the fact that we also need to include some educational content (see bug 1126264).
