Discovered today when cleaning out 'Temp' folders that since the landing of bug 1119941 that numerous 1K files are being generated every time flashplayer is called to play a video. These files are located in: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Temp Named: fx5275.tmp where the 4 digit number is varied and some are in HEX numbers I found over 7,000 of these files today. Contents of the file are: AutoUpdateDisable=1 SilentAutoUpdateEnable=0 ProtectedMode=0 I tested with a new profile, no addons. Flipping the pref: dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode To re-enabled protected mode stops the creation of the files. I don't know that its service affecting or not, but the files should not be generated every time Flashplayer is enabled. Open CNN and read a few stories, going back to main page after reading each link. Check the 'Temp' folder noted above and notice that the files keep being added with the time-stamp of when you returned to main page, or another page that has Flash files.

(In reply to Alice0775 White from comment #1) > No need to change any preferences . > > *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 1123966 *** I was only pointing out that flipping the pref will stop the creation of the random useless files.
