Summary: Frequent crashing in Fx35 and Fx35 remedied by disabling hardware acceleration → Frequent crashing in Fx34 and Fx35 remedied by disabling hardware acceleration
This bug SEEMED to have been fixed by:

1. Firefox 43.0.x
2. the latest AMD Crimson 15.10 and 15.12 Driver.

I used to disable BOTH hardware acceleration and pdfjs in older combinations of Firefox and AMD Catalyst driver!
Seemed that 64-bit Firefox 43.0.x still have this problem...
Do you still see this?

The bug was no longer detectable in Firefox 57 (Quantum). The bug appeared after version 50.

The bug appeared when my BOINC client was competing with Firefox for the GPU. If I closed BOINC when the slow-down happened, the problem seemed to go away. But it was not an issue with Firefox 50, but builds 51-56!

I dunno how to supply more information to the development team, without going back to older Firefox versions. Well... should we just forget about it and move on with Quantum? :)

BTW, I wish/hope this bug would not be a regression in future Firefox builds (57+) .... :)
