If the phone number is correct I don't see any reason why the app should show this error.

Anyway. Working for me on Flame (flame-KK.user.v2.0.188based.B-157.Gecko-bc27eb3.Gaia-2989f2b). The SMS message is received after a few seconds (more or less 10 second on my side)

What does 'similar' means in the phrase above, Loli? Do you mean having the same exact number that's on the SIM in the device? As in the user is trying to invite himself?

Is the user connected using FxA, or MobileID with that same number?
There is not any limitation to send the Room URL to any of your contacts, independently if they are loop users or not, in fact if they are not Loop Mobile users when they click on the URL they will be asked to install the application from the Market Place and will be able to join to that Room.

Regarding the SMS reception, I am also able to receive it without problem.

Loli, let us know if you agree with the explanation, or if there are any additional step we are missing in the STR, otherwise I will close the bug as Invalid.
Flags: needinfo?(lolimartinezcr)
User is logged in Mobile Loop application with MobileID (for example: 620972165) and having the same exact number in the SIM in the device (for example: 620972165)

I think a user shouldn't try to invite himself, because he is already owner.

I believe this is indeed an invalid bug. There're lots of reasons of why I might want to invite myself (like having two phones with the same mobile number) both using a mail identifier or a mobile identifier.

If that is the case, I agree with Antonio that this should be an invalid bug.
As he said, a user can have one identity to be registered in several devices but at the same time he can have several identities (several mobile numbers or e-mail addresses) that can identify a unique user and I think that it does not make sense try to apply restrictions for sharing that URL.

Checking the SMS and E-mail application you can see that there are not restrictions if you want to send a SMS or an e-mail to yourself, so trying to avoid doing it in Loop application could create more problems than bring benefits.
