Some not-insignificant changes were pushed to the REL1_23 branch of the Google Analytics extension, so I think it's worth due diligence when updating. There's only one commit that's new: https://git.wikimedia.org/commit/mediawiki%2Fextensions%2FgoogleAnalytics.git/44614d1b54b0b3f61a5b62c3864b2bdab45df609

FYI. This upgrade has has broke GA on wiki.mozilla.org since March 1st. It looks like the new extension uses Universal Analytics and wiki.mozilla.org GA property is still using classic GA analytics. This means we have lost data for the past 9 days. We are now upgrading the GA property to universal analytics and this should resolve the problem. We probably won't get the data back.
