I've been experiencing this on my Flame (v18D) for a long time on 2.1, but now that I flashed 2.2 on it and it still wasn't fixed, it was time to file a bug. I have been flashing my own builds (I need the Greek keyboard installed) and at some point in the distant past Find My Device started appearing disabled and grayed out, although logcat (attached) would have you believe otherwise. I've looked at the prefs and couldn't find anything related either.

I also have an Open C that I have flashed 2.2 on, but never had problems with Find My Device not working there. I don't know if find.firefox.com supports two devices for the same Firefox Account ID, so I tried disabling FMD on my Open C, but that doesn't "fix" the Flame.

Yesterday I discovered that not restoring my profile across updates ends up with Find My Device working. There must be something in the backup and restore process of this tool that Find My Device doesn't like:

Since I later upgraded from 2.2 to 3.0, I did a clean install and I don't have this problem any more. The code should clearly handle the upgrade situation better, but since I assume this is an unsupported case, I am resolving this bug.
