Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0
Build ID: 20150126171358
Steps to reproduce:
I left the phone in standby (screen turned off). It then randomly won't turn on again, not even restart after holding power. I need to remove the battery to reboot.
This happens on two Flame devices, both running the v188 base image.
The first one runs the v2.1 build from Mozilla, the second one a v2.1 from git with small changes to gaia (mostly only icons and search engines though).
This has been happening since around December to now. I update gaia and gecko regularly on both devices.
The issue happens randomly (sometimes not for a week), but sometimes several times a day. I mostly use the following system settings:
- WiFi -> on
- Geoloc -> off
- Mobile Data -> off
- Bluetooth -> off
- Lockscreen -> active
I am now beginning to suspect it happens more often after I finished a call, but I need some more days to see if that really has an influence.
Actual results:
After pressing the power button, the screen stays black. Even after holding down power for several seconds, the phone won't reboot.
Expected results:
After pressing the power button, the screen should turn on and gaia should appear
After having some more calls this week, I don't think it is related to calls.
As I see it, gaia should recognize the phone crashed and send a bug report (if authorized by me), isn't that the case? Is this not working because gonk crashes (I guess), and gaia can't detect and report that?
Is there some way I can provide more debug info? What do I need to do right after the phone crashes, e.g. how can I get logs for gonk?
I am not sure. I think the first things we might be able to take a look at is logcat information ( adb logcat ). Also maybe an output of the adb shell mesgd.
The crash id will help if your phone did crash:

Thanks! But I never got to check it out because it didn't happen anymore.
I've run the phone several days now without any crash since updating to firmware 18D, so I guess you can close the thread.
