Tested on Nightly: 20150217030213 (I've noticed this issue for about a week though) Under Arch Linux. STR 1. Browse to this Youtube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnIg8AZjobU 2. Wait Actual results The loading spinner keeps spinning. The video never gets loaded. Per the network panel, there is no network activity. Flash videos are loaded (like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSVv40M2aks). Please tell me if you need more information from my side.
Marcia, I remember a lot of computers in the Mountain View office playing YouTube videos. Could this issue be related to the testing that's done there?

How do you know it's an HTML5 video instead of a Flash video? If it's really an HTML5 video, then please move this bug to the Core: Video/Audio component as it would have nothing to do with plugins.

I don't have the notification at the top left of the awesome bar saying Flash needs to be activated. Also, in the page source of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AnIg8AZjobU, I see: > <div id="movie_player" class="html5-video-player ..."> Moving the issue to Video/Audio.

QA wanted to check firefox 37 and firefox 36.

jlorenzo: I am not able to reproduce this using Beta or Aurora on the machine in the QA lab area. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686 on x86_64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0 ID:20150217132925 CSet: 9e2391999085. The video you mention plays fine for me on both branches.

Retested today against build ID 20150219070749. HTML videos are working again on Youtube with the same configuration as in comment 0.
