Steps to reproduce:

writing new message for gmail account, for some minutes


Actual results:

Thunderbird pop-up notice for failed to auto-save message to draft folder of remote google gmail-server IMAP port.
In China, the internet connection to google server sometimes good, most time is bad.


Expected results:

a. suggest auto-save process change to: save new mail to local draft folder first, then save to remote IMAP server.
many times, i had wrote a lot in a new mail, and auto-save to remote fail, and I close my Laptops and later power on, Ubuntu fail to recovery from hibernate state, and the mail lost. This happened many times, and now I have to write new mail in gedit, when finished, copy to Thunderbird new mail window.

b. suggest not showing pop-up window to notice failing save to remote IMAP server. It will be better to show at top/bottom status-bar with red color for this kind of notice. 
Pop-up windows will force user to click to close. I think in this case, give a notice is enough.
This is a better-to-have feature.
