Details

The Slow Add-on Notification mechanism requires many syscalls to get performance data from the OS. Before letting it ride the trains, we need to make sure that it doesn't slow down Firefox noticeably.

Do you mean that regularly grabbing/monitoring the performance data (in order to eventually show the slow-addon warning) is expensive? or that displaying the notification is what slowing Firefox down?
