From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:0.9.6+) Gecko/20011204 BuildID: 2001120512 Build 2001120512 has destabilised my font sizes. Proportional fonts now display too big. Accessing my fonts lists gives me only 8859-3 fonts, but I don't know how long this situation has pertained, because I have had no cause to modify my font settings for many months. Reverting to 2001120408 I am able to fix the problem using the font dialog box, by selecting Fonts for: Western. This field is displayed as a blank on entry to the dialog (in build 2001120408). On selecting Western, I get my previously selected font set, but with the proportional size set to 16. Resetting this to 13 restores the font size. Subsequently selecting the fonts dialog brings up a blank Fonts for: field again, with the 8859-3 font set. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Start the browser on any page 2.Edit->Preferences->Appearance->Fonts 3. Actual Results: Proportional fonts have enlarged. Opening the fonts dialog shows Fonts for: field blank, and adobe-courier-iso8859-3 as the selection for all fonts. Proportional and Mono fonts sizes are both set to 8 pts. Dropping down a font list give only 8859-3 and some jisx fonts. Expected Results: Fonts for: set to Western (the set selected on the last visit to the doalog). The previously selected font set and sizes displayed. I don't remember the details, but trying to select Fonts for: Western in build 2001120512 did not provide a solution. Previously noted in comments to bug 94327. Previously overreacted when reversions did not fix the fonts.
prefs don't read in "Fonts for..." on start. It resets to blank each time, and only presents iso8859-3 fonts. If you select "Fonts for.." Western, the available fonts will look quite different and OK again. I'm not sure if it currently saves settings correct however, but the bug on it is bug 108939
