I can't speak to the expected/actual behaviour, but note that the page in question is controlled by Google. The name displayed is something we control as part of our OAuth2 registration with Google. However, it is expected that partners shipping devices will override our OAuth2 registration and use their own in their Gaia builds, and we would expect those registrations to have an appropriately localized name, and that in turn may result in different observed behaviour.

Expected behavior can be found on Arabic RTL 2.2 specs here: https://mozilla.app.box.com/s/bcm3s5i2v6js5uk0ws3tsywse8bgncgo Not sure what to make of this bug, as per comment 1? Should we escalate this to google or can we fix this one our side? Or do we just leave as is? In the meantime as this looks pretty bad from an end-user perspective and will occur in our main mail app, triaging as P1 and nominating so that general triage team can weigh in on severity. thanks

At least in the en-US locale, the triangle is a UI affordance bound to "Mozilla Firefox OS" (on the left) that's supposed to serve as a hint that clicking/tapping on "Mozilla Firefox OS" and the triangle will provide more information about the app. In this case, it's mainly telling the world my MoCo email address. If we believe that Google's current implementation that results in the triangle ending up on the right side of the string "Mozilla Firefox OS" is incorrect for the Arabic locale, it would be mutually beneficial to file a bug with them so they can fix their page. (I don't know where or how, unfortunately.) But there is nothing we can do about this from the email app that I can think of.

Er, and to clarify, clicking elsewhere on the string, like on "would like to:" does nothing. And if using b2g-desktop or any other UI with a mouse, you do get an underline that displays under "Mozilla Firefox OS" when hovering over it.

Not blocking as this page is not under our control, will move it over to evangelism as the next best guess.
