Details

The "Save File to" extension does not work with e10s. It cannot download/save images or links in e10s window. It can save the current page though. But everything works in non-10s window. Note: don't know why this extension is called "greatsaver" on arewee10syet but there is a malware called "GreatSaver" (see http://malwaretips.com/blogs/greatsaver-virus-removal/).

Thanks for testing, kenkon. I will update the extension name on arewee10syet.com.
Atte, are you the developer of the "Save File To" add-on? The add-on seems to be broken with multiprocess Firefox (e10s). If you have any questions about e10s support, just drop by the #e10s IRC channel on irc.mozilla.org or ask Jim Mathies on this bug. MDN also has a good introduction: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/Add-ons/Working_with_multiprocess_Firefox

It's just Google returning this extension's page for "greatsaver site:addons.mozilla.org".
Yes, I'm Save File to's developer. Project's issue to make it e10s campatible can be found here: https://bitbucket.org/atte-kemppila/save-file-to/issue/1
...and if someone could remove that "greatsaver" thing from this bug's title also, it would be appreciated.
Done. Sorry about that.

How goes the work on this?

In the current Nightly (46.0a1 2016-01-24), the extension is also broken in non-e10s windows. Contextual menu entries and download save dialog component are empty. Also the preferences dialog lists are empty and trying to add folders or separators has no effect.
Precisions : Ubuntu 14.04 x64
With Firefox 57 only WebExtensions are permitted and are, by default, e10s compatible.
